The Hollow Road runs east through the old forest, and you mean to be clear of the trees before the light fails.

Watch it. The story advances while you move — and stops mid-sentence the moment you do.

The story only moves when you do.

Not an audiobook with a step counter bolted on. The motion is the interface — narration advances with your stride and waits, exactly where you left off, the moment you stop.

Run HUD showing a green pace ring, walk figure, ON PACE, live pace and cadence stats, and a line of narration.
Moving. Green ring, narration running, your pace and cadence live under it.
Run HUD after stopping: red ring, pause icon, and the line The narrator waits. Pick up the pace to continue.
Stopped. Ring goes red, the narrator waits — pick the pace back up and the scene resumes.

How it moves you

Five ideas you won't find in a running app.

Everything here serves one thing: keeping your eyes up and your stride unbroken while a story unfolds around you.

01 · Motion gating

Move, and it speaks. Stop, and it waits.

Narration is tied to your body, not a play button. Come to a stop and the narrator stops with you — mid-sentence — then resumes from that same line the moment you move again.

Paused run HUD with a red ring reading The narrator waits.

02 · Gears

Walk when the story breathes. Run when it hunts you.

Every scene is authored at a pace. When the road is quiet, you walk. When the wolves catch your scent, the scene is a run — the app doesn't set you a fitness target, the story asks you to move, and if the pack closes the distance, that's how this one ends. Defaults not fitting your stride? Calibrate once in Settings and the story measures your own stroll, jog, and run instead.

Run HUD with the walk gear glyph, showing a walking scene.

03 · Speak your choice

A fork in the road. Speak or tap.

The narration names the words you can say back — “Say Approach · or tap.” On-device speech recognition takes it from there. Hands stay down, eyes stay up, stride unbroken. Prefer to tap? Tapping always works too.

A fork in the road with a glowing ember microphone, LISTENING… SAY YOUR CHOICE, and two options: Approach or Withdraw.

04 · Every run ends differently

Good, bad, and secret endings — mapped as a constellation.

Branching paths mean the miles you put in change how it ends. An endings map tracks what you've earned; the ones you haven't found are masked as ???. Some chapters only open for players who chose well.

Good Bad Secret
Endings screen drawn as a constellation: one discovered good ending, a secret star, and several masked ??? nodes.

05 · Glance, don't unlock

It lives on your Lock Screen.

A Live Activity keeps your pace, scene, and gate state on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Audio plays with the screen off and your phone in your pocket. Look down only when you want to.

Before you set out

The story sets the pace. You set how hard it pushes.

Set your pace screen with three intensity options — Easy, Moderate, Hard — and a Start Adventure button.

The gear · authored

Set by the story

Walk, jog, run — the gear belongs to the scene, chosen by the author to fit the moment. The Hollow Road opens walking and quickens as it darkens. You never pick a gear; you answer the one the story asks for.

The intensity · yours

Set by you

One dial, chosen once: Easy, Moderate, or Hard. It scales the thresholds and grace window for every gear — a gentler or fiercer version of the same walk and the same run. It's an intensity, not a gear.
